The Elite U-17 Regional Girls Championship, which was slated for October 14th to 19th, 2025, was more than just football. A key component of the camp, held at the Ghanaman Soccer of Excellence in Prampram, involved crucial interactive sessions between the GFA medical team and the young players, focusing on the vital topic of personal hygiene.

Moving beyond the training pitch, the medical staff, led by Dr. Christiana Baah and ably supported by Madam Mavis Adjeley Agoe and Madam Rabiatu Abubakar, engaged the players in essential discussions aimed at promoting total wellness. The sessions, held in an informal outdoor setting under the shade of trees, allowed the players to interact openly with the medical professionals.

The initiative was a core part of the capacity-building program for the female players. Discussions centred on essential health topics for players, including:

Proper sanitary practices, Menstrual hygiene management

, Prevention of common skin infections, the direct link between personal cleanliness and optimum player performance. These interactive sessions provided the U-17 players with knowledge that transcends the game. By instilling these healthy habits, the medical team is helping to build a foundation for a new generation of professional, disciplined, and healthy female footballers.

The Elite U-17 Girls Championship was not just a showcase of talent but a clear investment in the holistic future of women's football in Ghana, ensuring players are well-equipped to manage their health as they advance in their careers.
