League leaders Ashantigold have recorded a slim victory over Wa All Stars in their First Capital Plus Premier League Match day 17 game played in Obuasi on Saturday.

Yakubu Mohammed scored the only goal of the game after he converted a 9th minute spot kick.

And despite efforts from the away side, the game ended with Ashgold extending their lead on top of the First Capital Plus Premier League to seven points.

All Stars on the other hand have slipped to 7th on the table with 24 points.

Elsewhere, Medeama and Hasaacas settled for a goalless draw at the Tarkwa T & A park as both teams failed to convert their chances in the highly tensed Western regional derby.
