League leaders Ashantigold have extended their lead on the First Capital Plus Premier League after beating bottom placed BA United by 4-1 at the Len Clay Stadium on Sunday.

Mumuni Shafiu gave Ashgold the lead in the 7th minute from a spot kick before Bernard Morrison doubled the lead in the 39th minute.

Francis Adjei increased the tally for the Miners just three minutes into the second half before Selorm Djeraldo gave BA United a consolation goal in the 56th minute.

Left full back Tijani Joshua however gave Ashgold their fourth goal of the day in the 80th minute.

Ashantigold are now leading the rest of the pack with 37 points while BA United are battling with relegation with just 15 points from 19 games played.

At the Bechem Park, Bechem United beat New Edubiase 3-1 to move to 8th on the League table.

Ernest Baffour scored twice for the home side after Aminu Mohammed's opening goal in the 8th minute.

Bismark Idun however pulled one back for New Edubiase who 14th on the league table with 24 points.
