AshantiGold seek first win in five matches against Liberty professionals - Preview

The Obuasi Len clay stadium will on Sunday host the battle between the miners, AshantiGold and the scientists, Liberty Professionals.

The former have gone four matches without a win following defats against Legon Cities (5-2), and Ebusua Dwarfs (2-1) and two drawn games against Medeama SC (0-0) and Asante Kotoko (0-0), dropping to a disappointing 8th in the league standings with 17 points.

They aim to get back to winning ways on Sunday in a must win game against strugglers Liberty Professionals.

AshantiGold are the highest scoring club in League this term, but have failed to score in the last two home fixtures drawing goalless twice.

On player updates, right back cum midfielder, Kwadwo Amoako is suspended after being sent off in the midweek against Dwarfs.

Appiah McCarthy remains unavailable with a calf injury. Liberty have been poor in their last five matches, scoring two and conceding 11 goals and find themselves in the relegation zone, going five games on the bounce with no win.

The Scientific Soccer Lads have recorded two draws, four defeats on the road this season.

David Ocloo's men are in dire need of a win to turn their season around  and need to dig deep to beat the miners on Sunday.
