The stage is set for a blockbuster curtain-raiser for the new Women's football season as Women's Premier League champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies face FA Cup holders Hasaacas Ladies in the 2026 Women's Champion of Champions.

The two giants of Ghana Women's football will lock horns in what promises to be an explosive encounter between the two most dominant sides in recent years.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies head into the game as League champions after another dominant campaign. The Techiman-based side have established themselves as the team to beat in the Women's Premier League, combining tactical discipline with attacking flair to reclaim the title.

Hasaacas Ladies, on the other hand, arrive as holders of the Women's FA Cup after their impressive cup run last season. The Sekondi-based giants, four-time league winners, know how to rise to the big occasion and will be eager to lay down a marker for the new season.

This fixture is more than a trophy — it's a rivalry that has defined Ghana Women's football for the past five years. Both clubs have shared the last seven major trophies between them and have produced some of the most memorable finals, including the 2023 FA Cup final won by Ampem Darkoa and the 2024 Champion of Champions won by Hasaacas.

With Black Queens stars and Young Princesses on both sides, the game is expected to showcase the best of home-based talent.

Beyond the trophy and bragging rights, the Champion of Champions serves as the official curtain-raiser for the 2026/27 Women's football season and offers both coaches a chance to test their new signings and tactical systems ahead of the Women's Premier League kick-off.

A win for Ampem Darkoa would confirm their domestic dominance, while victory for Hasaacas Ladies would signal their intent to reclaim the league title.

The match is scheduled for 3pm kick off at the Otumfuo Astro Turf in Dichemso on Friday, October 16, 2026.
