Asante Kotoko have ended their winless streak with a 3-1 victory over Bechem United in their First Capital Plus Premier League match played at the Bechem Park on Sunday.
Noah Martey got the consolation goal for the home side as Michael Akuffo’s brace and Ahmed Toure’s goal gave Coach David Duncan a winning start to his Kotoko career.
The visitors made their intentions clear as early as the first minute when midfielder Michael Akuffo got the opening goal.
Bechem United quickly responded when Noah Martey brought the game back on level terms after he converted from the spot in the 3rd minute.
Striker Ahmed shot Kotoko back into on the half hour mark to give the reigning Champions a 2-1 lead at halftime.
Michael Akuffo scored his second of the day at the 62nd as Kotoko secured all three points in the Match day six game.
Prior to this game, the Porcupine Warriors had not won a match since January 30 when they beat Inter Allies 1-0 in Kumasi.
