Ahmed, Boye get Ghana call up

Gabriel Issah Ahmed and John Boye have both been included in Ghana’s 22-man squad for Sunday’s 2010 African Nations Cup and World Cup qualifier against Gabon.

The two defenders would join the Black Stars squad who gather in camp today in Accra.

Both defenders come into the squad to add up to Ghana’s defensive unit with Eric Addo out injured after picking up a knock in Saturday’s defeat to Gabon in Libreville.

Issah Ahmed, thus make a return to the squad for the first time since playing a role during the latter stages of Ghana’s World Cup qualifying campaign for Germany 2006.

For John Boye, a local defender with Heart of Lions and a member of the local Black Stars squad playing in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers, this is his first call-up into the senior team.

Ghana's playing squad will commence preparations in Accra on Wednesday ahead of Sunday's clash with Gabon.
