A fantastic Ghana side beat Gambia 3-1 on Tuesday evening to move on top of Group A in the ongoing 13th African Games Men’s Football competition

Aziz Misibau, Abdul Aziz Issah and Jerry Afriyie scored in either half for the Black Satellites as they cruised to a 3-1 victory in a very entertaining game at the Accra Sports Stadium Tuesday night.

After minutes of successive goal attempts, Aziz Misibau arrived in the box just on time to pick up a loose ball after the Gambian goalkeeper failed to keep hold of the ball.

The 18-year old forward then slotted in to put Ghana ahead on the 13th minute.

Abdul Aziz Issah doubled Ghana’s lead minutes into the second half with a shot to beat Sanyang for the second goal.

Ghana could have made it three but the Gambia Goalkeeper managed to save Misibau’s 74th minute penalty kick.

The Gambians however pulled one back inside the final ten minutes before substitute Jerry Afriyie scored a spectacular goal to give Ghana a resounding 3-1 win .

The result takes Ghana atop of Group A with four points.

Both Benin and Congo are both on two points and are second and third respectively.

The Black Satellites will face Benin in their last group game on Friday, March 15,2024.

Friday’s game will be played at the Legon Sports Stadium and will kick off at 5pm, same time as the other Group A game between Congo and Gambia.
