Dominic Adiyiah wants to prove himself following his return to the Ghana national team.

The 22-year-old striker missed out of the Black Stars squad that played at the 2012 African Cup of Nations.

Adiyiah is yet to match expectation generated by his performances at the at the 2009 FIFA Under-20 World Cup where he was crowned the Golden Shoe winner after helping Ghana win gold.

But a six month loan spell with Ukrainian side, Arsenal Kiev from AC Milan appears to have revived Adiyiah's career after appearing to be a way out of his depth some months past.

“It was hard for me not to part of the team for the African Cup of Nations but I believe everything that transpired did happen for a reason,” Adiyiah said.

“I am happy to be back into the team and plan staying for a long time.”

The striker has made a fair assessment of his selection into the Black Stars and wants to reward the trust of coach Kwesi Appiah.

“I know I would be a success as I can feel the trust of the coach which is paramount for every player to succeed.

“It wouldn’t be about who gets the chance to play but the success of the team is paramount. I would be thrilled to bang in the goals on my return to make it a memorable one.”

Ghana are preparing towards the 2014 World Cup qualifying against Lesotho on June 1 before the June 9 clash against African champions, Zambia.
