Thunder Queens put up a spirited performance to beat Immigration ladies 2-1 on match-day 11 of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) played at the Mcdan La Town Park on Sunday.

Immigration ladies FC scored first goal through Linda Aba Mensah in the 10th minute but Thunder Queens fought back in the second half to end the match 2-1.

Immigration Ladies led at half-time when goalkeeper Safiatu Salifu failed to stop Aba Mensah’s snap-shot inside the 12 yard box.

Aba Mensah pounced on a mistake by Thunder Queens’ defence to punish their opponent but their excitement was short lived as Deborah Opoku expertly converted a penalty to draw level.

Aba Mensah again had a chance in the 35th minute to put Immigration ladies ahead but was denied by the post as the first half came to a close.

Thunder Queens came into the second half motivated to defeat the home side and Vivian Konadu Adjei this time, beat the goalkeeper of Immigration Ladies to smash home.

With five minutes left to end regulation time, Konadu Adjei headed home Thunder Queens’ second to walk away with the maximum points.

The win gives Thunder Queens 11 points after 11 matches with Immigration ladies still stuck at five points.

Vivian Konadu Adjei was named the NASCO player of the match.
