Tamale based Pearl Pia ladies were stunned at home by Kumasi Sports Academy on match day 7 of the Women’s Premier League on Saturday at the Utrecht park.

Afia Nyarko scored in the 35th minute to secure the needed 3 points for the visitors in a crucial away tie.

Pearl Pia Ladies were desperate to bounce back to winning ways after slipping on the road away on Match day 6.

Kumasi Sports Academy were forced to make a substitution in the 26th minute when Constance Adjei came on for injured Mercy Deidei Okai.

Pearl Pia ladies suffered the same faith in the 55th minute when Alhassan Shakiratu Tunteeya came on for injured Iddrisu Fahima.

In search of the equalizer, coach Baba Nuhu brought on Alhassan Bintu in place of David Piong Jennifer on the 52nd minute.

Chances were few after the opening goal, especially in the second half.

The two coaches kept tinkering with the squads with substitutions until the referee blew her whistle for the end of the game.

Pearl Pia Ladies FC defender Yakubu Ayisha was adjudged NASCO player of the match after her brilliant performance at the back  for the home side.
