Two first half spot kicks were enough for Berry Ladies to secure a vital away win against Sea Lions on match day 10 of the Women’s Premier League.

Sea Lions came into the game with interim Coach Bernard Frans following the resignation of Maapa Inkoom - Berry Ladies on the other hand did not have their head coach Mercy Quarcoo-Tagoe.

The visitors made their intentions clear immediately after the blast of the whistle. Grace Adams was brought down by Felicia Chaa in the 30th minute for a penalty in favour of Berry Ladies – she elected herself to put her team in the lead on the half hour mark.

The pressure continued with strikes from Berry Ladies to solidify their lead but the Cecilia Hagan led defence stood resolute to calm nerves.

Just a minute to the end of the first half, a goal bound cross touched the hands of Felicia Fosuaa in the penalty box – another penalty was awarded to Berry Ladies to extend their lead.

Victoria Osei shot the ball into the roof of the net for the second goal of the match to bring the first half to an end. Sea Lions began the second half with higher levels of exuberance after the introduction of fresh legs - Gladys Neequay and Gladys Nortey came on for Belinda Fosua and Ellen Ampong.

The play became balance from both sides but Sea Lions dominated and created chances but they could not burry them. Berry Ladies goalkeeper Abigail Mensah Tawiah pulled some impressive saves to protect their lead as the game ended 2-0 in favour of Berry Ladies.

Cecilia Hagan was adjudged the NASCO player of the match.
