In the Southern Zone, Hasaacas Ladies have won the contest despite a keen title race with Berry Ladies. The Sekondi side are still unbeaten in the League and opened a 5 point lead at the top of the table last week to wrap up a fine season. They will look forward to a happy ending ahead of the title decider against Ampem Darkoa Ladies next month. Sea Lions and Immigration had a season to forget as Berry Ladies failed to sustain the momentum – after imploding in the course of the season. Here is what to expect on the final day of matches in the Southern Zone.

SEA LIONS VS THUNDER QUEENS

Sea Lions will welcome Thunder Queens to the Nduom Sports Stadium on match day 14 to round up the league. Sea Lions could only amass two points out of the 13 matches played – leaving them with six points behind Immigration Ladies. The Elmina based club suffered a 1:0 defeat at the hands of Immigration in the penultimate clash in Accra last week. Even though the outcome of the clash will not have any change on the league log, Thunder Queens would however need a win to have the edge over their opponent after winning the first round clash ended 2:1.

SOCCER INTELLECTUALS VS IMMIGRATION LADIES

The Adu Yaw-Assasan Park, will host Soccer Intellectuals versus Immigration Ladies on match day 14. With the Champions already known in the two zones, the only pride for the clubs will be to fight to get spot in the newly introduced Women’s League super Cup. Soccer Intellectuals are 3rd on the log with 22 points and have already cemented a place in the Super Cup competition regardless of the result on the final day. Immigration on the other hand are 2nd from the foot of the league table with a paltry 8 points and have already missed out of the novel competition no matter the margin of win in Sunday’s game. Immigration Ladies are poor travellers and have to dig deep to secure a good score line come Sunday.

BERRY LADIES VS HASAACAS LADIES

Hasaacas Ladies have opened up a five-point lead at the top of the table (with a game in hand) courtesy of a 10-match winning streak, which culminated in a 3-0 demolition of Police Ladies last week. Though this game will not have any impact on winner of the League, the bragging rights is at stake for them while Berry Ladies will need a win to solidify the second slot. Berry Ladies came into the season with some finesse and flamboyance but slipped up in the course of the season – allowing Hasaacas Ladies to boss the competition. The last encounter at the Gyandu park ended in favour of the ‘Dooo Ladies’ and Berry Ladies would fight to redeem themselves from that defeat. The attacking trio of Milot Pokua, Veronica Appiah and Doris Boaduwaa will surely test the paws of goalkeeper Abigail Tawiah Mensah who has also been in fine form from this season.

POLICE LADIES VS LADYSTRIKERS

Coming from a 3-0 defeat to Hassacas ladies on Match-day 13, Police Ladies will be eager for a win when they host Cape Coast-based, Ladystrikers in the final fixture of the season. The dicey encounter comes off on Sunday at the Mcdan La Town Park in Accra. The visitors lie 4th in the log with 20 points – one less than Police Ladies and a win might push them to the fourth spot.   However, Police Ladies have shown a huge shift in intent in the second round of the league and seem to have found a new lease of life, playing some serious attractive football. Police Ladies would look to end the season on a high and are expected to parade the likes of Grace Animah, Elshaddai Acheampong, Philicity Asuoko, Jane Ayieyam and Fafali Dumehasi. Ladystrikers have won six matches, drawn two and lost five and will also come in stronger with Gladys Amfobea, the current second top scorer of the League in their squad.
