The last batch of matches for the Women’s Premier League comes off this weekend with a number of tantalizing fixtures to look forward in the Northern Zone. There shall be a derby on the final day of the competition where Ashtown Ladies take on familiar foes Supreme Ladies.

This will be a crucial game for the home side who lost miserably to Ampem Darkoa on match day 13.  Ashtown Ladies are two points away from the second spot and will need a win to boost their chances of finishing the season in second place.

Supreme ladies lost 2-1 to Northern Ladies last weekend and will look to bounce back to restore their lost pride. Both teams dropped points over the weekend and will look forward to making amends with this crunch week 14 fixture.

A hat-trick from Sandra Owusu Ansah and a brace from Nancy Amoh secured all points for Supreme Ladies in a 5-1 mauling where Joyce Antwiwaah Fenteng got Ashtown Ladies a 71st minute consolation.

Highly flying Kumasi Sports Academy will aim at solidifying their grip on the spot as they welcome compatriots, Pearl Pia Ladies to Okese park on match day 14. They beat city rivals, Fabulous Ladies last weekend and Coach Anokye Frimpong is confident of winning this game to round up a very fine season. Pearl Pia Ladies are coming into this game with all the seriousness it deserves after sharing points with Prisons Ladies at home on match day 13. The team is currently 7th on the league log with 11 points. A 35th minute strike from Afia Nyarko did the trick for Kumasi Sports Academy in the first round of the league where all 3 points were claimed at the Utrecht Park in Tamale.  Obviously the Academy Ladies have generally enjoyed the spoils at home in the past and based on Pearl Pia Ladies’ current form on the road, the home side looks likely to continue their dominance.

Winners Ampem Darkoa Ladies will play as guest to Northern Ladies FC on Friday, June 04, 2021 at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium Tamale. Northern Ladies FC go into the match with a lot of confidence after putting up a brilliant performance in their last 3 matches – the FA Cup and Premier League. Ampem Darkoa Ladies have been remarkably consistent and will be looking to bring an outstanding season to a good end as they journey to Tamale to face Northern Ladies. They sit at the top of the Northern Zone log with 33 points and a win could take them to a remarkable 37 points after 14 matches – while Northern Ladies sit in 4th place with 18 points. The biggest news for Northern Ladies is the return of club top scorer Jafar Rahama who missed the matches against Supreme Ladies and FC Savannah due to injury. Their first round fixture ended 4-2 in favor of Ampem Darkoa Ladies. Victory for Northern Ladies will push them up to third position.

Kumasi Sports Academy will welcome Tamale-based Pearl Pia Ladies to the Okese Park-Ejisu in their last fixture of the season. Kumasi Sports Academy looked incredible last weekend after beating Fabulous Ladies 2-0 on the road. Pearl Pia Ladies will look to end their season on a high having endured a topsy-turvy campaign this term. The last meeting between both sides saw Kumasi Sports Academy registering an emphatic away win over Pearl Pia Ladies where a lone goal from Afia Nyarko did the trick.
