Thunder Queens and Faith Ladies get us underway on Friday while Army Ladies confront Soccer Intellectuals in another scintillating battle. Here is a preview of matches in the Southern Zone.

LADYSTRIKERS X POLICE LADIES

Ladystrikers welcome Police Ladies to the Robert Mensah Sports stadium in Cape Coast on Saturday in the pick of the pack for Math Day 5. Ladystrikers were late winners over Army Ladies on match day 4 with a Sandra Narh goal on the 90th minute mark. The strikers have always proven a tough opposition at home, winning most of their matches with huge margins. But Police Ladies won come cheap especially after securing a vital against Champions Ladies at the Gyandu Park on Math Day three. Police Ladies will travel into the game after a tough  1:1 draw with Thunder Queens over the weekend but still have plenty of potentials available to match the strength of the ‘Strikers’ at home. The two sides will be relishing this opportunity of picking maximum points  but the ‘Strikers’ are imperious at home and should prevail in this one.

BERRY LADIES X IMMIGRATIONLADIES

Berry Ladies will be looking to take the game to Immigration Ladies from the outset, in what promises to be an enthralling Super Saturday at the Madina Astro turf. The Berries have endured a topsy-turvy start to the Premier League this term and Coach Freeman and his backroom staff would love to get one over this Immigration side. Immigration Ladies meanwhile are riding the crest of a wave after grabbing a point on the road in Ajumako against Soccer Intellectuals over the weekend. The visitors have a genuine chance of surprising the home side but Berry Ladies are most likely to clinch all three points.

 HASAACAS LADIES X SEA LIONS

The Gyandu Park in Sekondi will host the match between Champions Hasaacas Ladies and Sea Lions. The Lions are yet to win a single game, out of their four matches played in the season while the home side, Hasaacas Ladies are yet to taste defeat and aim to continue their unbeaten run. Since Sea Lions  joined the League in 2015/16 season they have been a tough opposition for Hasaacas Ladies even though the’ Dooo Ladies’ have had most of the encounters in their favor. Last season, Sea Lions were the only side that picked a point against Hasaacas Ladies at home and would fancy their chances in this fixture. This particular encounter does not seem different as the home side are yet to lose a game although they shared the points with Police Ladies on Math Day three. A great game awaits fans at the Sekondi Gyandu Park this weekend.

ARMY LADIES X SOCCER INTELLECTUALS

It is fair to say that neither side would have had a fun week at training after Army Ladies suffered a painful home defeat while Soccer Intellectuals also drew at the Adu Yaw- Asassan Park. The home side are languishing at the bottom of the Southern Zone League log without a point and are hoping to get things right in this particular encounter slated for the El-Wak Sports Stadium. Soccer Intellectuals on the other hands have proven to be a tough customer in previous outings and are hoping to continue in that stead. Perhaps we will see some sort of response from at least one of these teams, as both sides seek to end their winless run in the new campaign.

THUNDER QUEENS X FAITH LADIES

Thunder Queens host neighbors, Faith Ladies and hope to show superiority over the new entrants at the Dansoman Carl Reindolf Park. This will be the first time both sides will be meeting in the Women’s Premier League history. Faith Ladies couldn't maintain their unbeaten status as they lost by two goals to one to defending champions, Hasaacas Ladies in their previous game. The team has won just once, drawn twice and lost one while netting 7 times in the process. The script seems almost same for the host but the only difference is the number of goals Thunder Queens have scored - five goals in four matches, conceding six in the process. Going into the game with same points, a win for either side will see that team leapfrog the other on the League log. Performances of striker Vivian Konadu Adjei of Thunder Queens and Jennifer Yeboah of Faith Ladies will headline this crunch encounter.
