Deputy captain of the Black Satellites Frederick Kesse has expressed confidence that the players are focused on winning Gold in their African Games Men's football final against Uganda.

Ghana will battle it out with Uganda on Friday, March 22, 2024 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Coach Desmond Ofei's side topped Group A with seven points after drawing goalless with Congo and victories against The Gambia (3-1) and Benin (1-0) in the other group games.

In the semi-final, Ghana edged out Senegal 1-0 in an exciting game at the Accra Sports Stadium. Reflecting on the game, Kesse described Uganda as tough opponents but insisted that the players are well-motivated and hungry to win the competition.

Below is the transcript:

"Looking at the moral in camp we are very motivated to deliver and we are hungry to achieve. The game is more psychological than physical. We are very ready for the final".

"I think Uganda cannot be underestimated. They have demonstrated class in this competition looking at their results. We are Ghana and looking at the morale in camp the boys are very ready to deliver and we have a good technical team and with them we are good to go."

"Ghana has alot of talent and if you watch our games there’s no room for complacency. We have no excuse than to win the trophy. This is the time to revive the seemly lost hope and this is the time to bring back the love and we are on course to delivering. We are of the firm conviction that Ghana will be great going forward."

"For us the interest of Ghanaians is at heart. We are very prepared, very ready and very hungry and we are certain that the trophy will stay in Ghana", the Accra Lions youngster said at the pre-match press conference.

The final match will kick off at 8pm after the third place play off between Senegal and Congo.
