Yussif Basigi believes his team will go into the game against Tanzania with the aim of winning and improving on their performance in the opening game against Ethiopia.

Ghana won 1:0 labored to a 1-0 win in their opening match as they failed to convert their chances but Yussif Basigi believes the team will come good against Tanzania.

''We are going into the game against Tanzania to play better than our first game. It is not always easy to play the first match at home in front of your home fans'' Basigi said.

''Tanzania are a very good side and have their own pattern of play. We watched their first game just as they also saw us play against Ethiopia and I know it is going to be a great game tomorrow''.

''We have seen them play and we are going to deploy our tactical strategy as to how we are going to play so it will not be easy playing with us. I know they are physical and taller than our players but we know what it takes to play against a physically good side. We played against Senegal in the World Cup qualifiers, they are a very good and a more stronger opponent but tactically, we defeated them so we know how to play against a stronger side''

''When it comes to competitions of this nature, it is not always about scoring many goals but strategizing on how to win your games. If we get the chances, yes, we will convert them to win by larger margins. Though we wasted a lot of chances, we have worked on it at training and we will make good use of the chances that will come our way'' Basigi  added.

The coach provided a positive update on Mafia Nyame following an injury she picked up in the opening game against Ethiopia.

''Maafia Nyame is doing well now even though she had an injury in the opening match but she trained this morning and the medical team has assured us that she is fit and good to go''.

The Black Princesses will play Tanzania at 20:00Hrs on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
