Black Starlets head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, says his team is fully prepared and motivated for their crucial Group A encounter with hosts Ivory Coast at the ongoing WAFU Zone B U17 Boys Championship. The match, scheduled for Tuesday in Yamoussoukro, is seen as a defining moment for Ghana’s campaign.

Speaking to the media on Monday evening after wrapping up preparations, Dr. Ogum expressed confidence in his players and highlighted the intensive work done in camp since their opening match against Togo. “We are ready for Ivory Coast on Tuesday. After our game against Togo, we’ve had two training sessions; recovery and a tactical session as well as two video sessions to evaluate what we did right or wrong in the game. So we’ll come onto the field to do what we think we need to consolidate,” he said.

Dr. Ogum also spoke about the positive attitude and spirit in the Black Starlets’ camp. “The body language of the players shows they are in high spirit and look very focused and ready to get the job done tomorrow, he added. His remarks underline the determination of the technical team and players to bounce back and secure a vital win against the hosts.

The match against Ivory Coast presents a critical opportunity for the Black Starlets to take charge of their group and move a step closer to the knockout stage. The team will be counting on their disciplined approach, improved finishing, and tactical flexibility to get the desired result in Yamoussoukro.
