Black Starlets deputy captain Ernest Ofori says he and his teammates are fully prepared for their crucial Group A encounter with hosts Ivory Coast on Tuesday in the ongoing WAFU Zone B U17 Boys Championship in Yamoussoukro.
Speaking ahead of the match, Ofori expressed confidence in the team’s readiness and their ability to deliver a positive result. “We’re fully prepared for Ivory Coast,” he said.
“We know what is at stake, and we’ve worked hard in training to put ourselves in a good position to win. All we will need to do is to be tactically disciplined, and the job against Ivory Coast will be easier,” he said.
The deputy skipper also praised the technical team, led by Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, for their meticulous preparation ahead of the crunch tie. He noted that the recovery and tactical sessions held after the 1-1 draw with Togo have boosted the players’ confidence and readiness for the challenge ahead.
The Black Starlets will be aiming to secure their first win of the tournament after their spirited performance against Togo, which saw them earn widespread praise despite playing with a man down for almost the entire game. A victory against Ivory Coast would put Ghana in a strong position to qualify for the next stage of the competition.
