Black Starlets skipper, Joseph Narbi, has declared the Black Starlets’ readiness ahead of their opening match against Togo in the WAFU Zone B U17 Boys Championship on Saturday at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast.
Narbi, who has been a standout figure during the team’s preparations, expressed confidence in his teammates and assured Ghanaians of a strong performance in the tournament opener. “We are ready for Togo. The training sessions have gone very well and everyone is focused on the task ahead,” he said.
The captain also praised the technical team led by Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum for their tactical guidance and support. “Our coaches have prepared us well. We’ve worked on our strengths and improved on areas that needed attention. We’re determined to make the country proud,” he added.
Head Coach Dr. Ogum and his staff have spent the last week fine-tuning tactics, fitness, and set pieces as part of their preparation for the crucial Group A clash. All 23 players passed the mandatory MRI test and are available for selection, providing the team a full squad for the competition.
Ghana is drawn in Group A with Ivory Coast, Niger, and Togo, and the Black Starlets are determined to secure qualification for the 2025 U17 Africa Cup of Nations through the regional championship.
The much-anticipated fixture against Togo will take place at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro and is expected to draw enthusiastic support from Ghanaian fans in Ivory Coast.
