Togolese referee Kossi Fabrice Senyo has been confirmed as the center referee for the highly anticipated WAFU B U17 Boys Championship final between Ghana and hosts Ivory Coast. The clash, set to be staged at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro, promises to be a thrilling contest between two of the tournament’s most exciting sides.

Senyo will be assisted on the lines by Benin’s Koudogbo Augustine Kougbemede as Assistant Referee 1 and Burkina Faso’s Lamien Dofinte Adolphe as Assistant Referee 2. The fourth referee for the grand finale will be Morocco’s Mohamed El Baroudi, while Nigeria’s Emmanuel Omada has been designated as the reserve assistant referee. The Match Commissioner for the game will be Galley Yao Senam, also from Togo.

The appointment of a strong officiating team reflects the significance of the final, which has already been billed as a “West African derby” with high stakes. Both Ghana and Ivory Coast have displayed remarkable quality in the tournament, with Ghana surging back strongly after a shaky start and Ivory Coast riding on the momentum of home support.

Fans across the region are eagerly awaiting Sunday’s showdown, which is expected to be not only a battle for silverware but also a display of the future stars of African football.
