Black Starlets head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has emphasized that his team has been working hard on improving their finishing ahead of Tuesday’s crucial Group A encounter with hosts Ivory Coast at the ongoing WAFU Zone B U17 Boys Championship in Yamoussoukro.

Speaking to the media after their final training session on Monday, Dr. Ogum admitted that the team has been creating enough chances but their conversion rate in front of goal has been a challenge. “Creating the chance is not the problem. It’s about conversion and because of that we had a full session on goal scoring in our last training session, he said.

He further explained how the team has been simulating real-match scenarios to improve their finishing. “Some of the situations that happened in the game were recreated and we worked on the finishing in our last training session. The conversion was good at training and I’m sure our conversion against Ivory Coast will be better,” Dr. Ogum added.

The Black Starlets, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Togo in their opening match, are determined to secure all three points against the host nation to boost their chances of advancing to the knockout stage.
