Wa Power SC secured bragging rights on the opening weekend of the 2025/26 Access Bank Division One League, edging Yapei FC 2-1 in Zone One A. Francis Barfo Addae opened the scoring with a superb strike in the 25th minute, before Christopher Gyamfi doubled the lead for the hosts. Yapei FC pulled one back through Emmanuel Amamu's stoppage-time penalty, but Wa Power held firm to claim victory.

At Nana Agyemang Badu I Park, Dormaa Unity SC triumphed 2-1 over Berekum Arsenal in one of the most anticipated fixtures of the weekend. Clinton Kumi Junior struck first for Unity in the 40th minute, but George Quayeson equalized for Arsenal in the 83rd minute. Just when the visitors thought they had snatched a point, William Addo netted the winner in the 87th minute, sealing victory for the home side.

In Tamale, Real Tamale United's struggles continued as they were held to a 1-1 draw by newly promoted Sankara Nationals at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium. Alex Junior Ofori gave the visitors an early lead in the 13th minute, but Wisdom Jonas Manyina restored parity with a fine goal in the 65th minute, denying Sankara Nationals a dream debut victory.
