The second edition of the Free License D Coaching Course for colts club coaches is set to commence in the Upper West Region. The training program will take place from Monday, July 14 to Monday, July 21, 2025, at the Upland Hotel in Wa.
This initiative is part of the GFA’s nationwide policy to equip grassroots coaches with the technical knowledge and skills required to develop young talents across the country.
It also aligns with the Association’s long-term vision of strengthening juvenile football structures through capacity building at the foundational level.
Last season, over 30 coaches in the region benefited from the free coaching course as the GFA is committed to seeing 900 colts club coaches receive training in a 3-year period.
The License D Course will focus on modern coaching techniques, child development principles, and the GFA’s official coaching curriculum tailored for colts-level football. Participants will engage in both theoretical and practical sessions over the seven-day program.
GFA Technical Director Professor Joseph Kwame Mintah and other certified instructors will oversee the course delivery, ensuring participants receive top-level instruction. Upon successful completion, attendees will be awarded the CAF/GFA License D certificate, enabling them to officially coach at the juvenile level.
The GFA remains committed to grassroots development, and this course in Wa marks another significant step in empowering colts coaches to groom the next generation of football stars in Ghana.
