
UCC Youngsters lifted themselves two points clear of the drop zone with a famous 2-1 victory over Zone Two leaders Swedru All Blacks. Lucas Tatul Ntapuah scored the first goal for the home side in the 20th minute, but Andrews Quainoo responded with a superb finish three minutes later, before Issah Yussif scored the winning goal for UCC Youngsters in the 49th minute. Swedru All Blacks are still top of the table with 63 points despite the defeat.
Relegation-threatened Elmina Sharks recorded back-to-back wins for the first time this season after defeating fellow relegation-dogfighters Sekondi Eleven Wise 1-0 at the Gyandu Park. Caleb Ofori Nuakoh scored the match-winner in the 40th minute for the former Premier League side. Sharks are currently 14th in the relegation zone with 32 points after Matchday 28.
Also, Rampant Sekondi Rospak SC secured their 15th consecutive home win with an impressive 2-0 win over bottom-half outfit Skyy FC to keep pace with leaders Swedru All Blacks. Francis Havor and Aaron Capson scored two vital goals in either half to help Sekondi Rospak SC clinch all the spoils. Francis Havor scored first in the 45th minute, before Aaron Capson made it 2-0 for the home side in the 81st minute. They are currently sitting in second position on the league table with 59 points.
