Members of two male national teams, the Black Stars and the Black Satellites will on Friday be conferred with State Honors by the President, John Evans Atta Mills.

The President as part of Ghana’s 51st Republic Day celebrations on March 6, made the announcement to host an Investiture Ceremony for the membership of the teams and other distinguished personalities.

In recognition of their 2010 World Cup performance, National Awards will be conferred on members of the senior male national team.

The playing body of the Black Stars, who reached the quarter finals in South Africa are to receive the Companion of the Order of the Volta.

The other honorees are the technical and management teams of the Black Stars, who would take the Grand Medal.

Ghana was the only side out of Africa's six representatives to advance past the group stages at the World Cup finals.

The President will also decorate the Under-20 World Cup winning team, the Black Satellites and their head coach Sellas Tetteh with awards.

Players of the team and Sellas Tetteh will be decorated with the Member of the Order of the Volta.

The technical and management teams will be conferred with the Grand Medal.

Ghana in 2009 became the first team from the continent to win the Fifa U-20 World Cup when the Black Satellites lifted the title in Egypt.
