Oaks FC staged a dramatic comeback to beat Sissamba Ladies 2-1 in an all-Greater Accra affair. Mercy Adomah unleashed a ferocious strike at the edge of the 18-yard box that beat goalkeeper Durowaa of Oaks in the 3rd minute.

Oaks pressed hard to fetch the equalizer but were unsuccessful. Oaks found their mojo after recess as they kept piling incessant pressure on their opponent. It came as no surprise when Portia Sakyiwaa fired home a volley to the top left corner of the net. Fati Ibrahim gave Oaks the match winner in the 90th minute.

In the opening game of the championship, Black Damsels star girl Christiana Ashiaku's brace sealed victory for Rootz Sistaz over former Premier League campaigners Essiam Socrates.

Ashiaku netted the opening goal of the playoff in the 10th minute after breaching the defense of Essiam Socrates and putting the ball beyond the reach of Grace in the post. Ashiaku again weaved her way through the left side of the defense of their opponent to record a brace before Alberta Abube fetched a consolation for Socrates through a goal-mouth melee.

The second half failed to produce any goal. Essiam Socrates had better exchanges in the final minutes of the game but could not convert chances that came their way.

The second game of the day saw Samatex Ladies rallying from a goal down to secure victory over Anlo Ladies. The two sides went into recess with nothing on the score sheet. Mary Sarpong gave the Timber Queens the lead three minutes after recess, but Pascaline Dagazi canceled the lead in the 68th minute through a defensive error.

Dominant Samatex kept pressing in search of the match winner and got it through substitute Freda Mono in the 84th minute. The games will continue tomorrow with Group B fixtures, where Wa All Stars takes on Candy Soccer Academy, Ashtown Ladies against Pearlpia Ladies, and Nasara Ladies squares off with Bolga Sharp Arrows.
