The GFA Executive Committee has approved the Match Review Panel’s recommendation to ban three referees and an assistant referee for decisions taken in respective Ghana Premier League games they officiated.

The Match Review panel recommended for Referees Otis Oppong and his assistant Yahaya Alhassan, Charles Benle Bulu and Fred Andoh to be banned for decisions taken in the match between Hasaacas vs Dreams FC, New Edubiase vs Asante Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea vs New Edubiase respectively.

On Referee Otis Oppong, the Executive Committee accepted the Review panel’s recommendation to ban him and his assistant Yahaya Alhassan for four (4) matches each after denying Sekondi Hasaacas a good goal in the 63rd minute of the Match day 22 game between the two sides.

On his part, the Executive Committee upheld the Review Panel’s recommendation to ban Referee Bulu for six (6) matches for awarding a bad penalty against Asante Kotoko in the 76th minute of the Match day 23 game.

The Executive Committee also upheld the panel’s recommendation to ban Referee Andoh for six (6 matches) for awarding a bad penalty against New Edubiase in the 33rd minute of the Match day 23 game and for taking bad decisions throughout the game and ignoring a lot of reckless tackles against the players of New Edubiase FC.

All bans on the above mentioned referees and the assistant take effect from the date of the letters sent to them on this day Wednesday 10th August, 2016.
