As many as six regular England players would not be involved in Tuesday's friendly against Ghana after being released to their clubs.

The English FA today confirmed that: "John Terry, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole have returned to Chelsea, Michael Dawson has returned to Tottenham Hotspur, Wayne Rooney has returned to Manchester United and Kyle Walker to Aston Villa."

With the exception of Kyle, the five others played in England's 2-0 Euro 2012 qualifying win over Wales on Saturday in Cardiff.
