The decisive moment came in the 28th minute when Richard Kwabena Agyei scored to hand Tamale City FC the lead. The unbeaten league leaders now have 32 points from 14 matches, further consolidating their position at the summit. Tamale City finished the round as the only unbeaten side in the Zone after 9 wins and 5 draws in 14 Access Bank Division One League matches.
Their city rivals, Real Tamale United suffered their third defeat of the season, going down 1-0 to mid-table side Wa Power SC at the Malik Jabir Stadium. Emmanuel Amamu scored the match-winning goal just four minutes into the game. The loss leaves Real Tamale United with 25 points from 14 matches, falling further behind Tamale City FC in the title race.
