Ghana's players today donated part of their wages to the Children’s Hospital in Accra as they seek to put some smiles on the faces of the sick.

A total cash donation of GH 2,000 was presented to the health institute to help facilitate their treatment and upkeep.

FA vice President, Fred Pappoe who made the donation on behalf of the players backed the move and explained that it formed part of their social responsibility towards the community.

Also present was Black Stars team manager, Opoku Afriyie, himself a former Black Stars striker.

Senior nursing officer of the hospital, Margaret Okai appreciated the teams gesture promised them of the hospitals support in their quest for a record equalling fifth African Cup of Nations title.

“This presentation is timely; as it has come at a time we really need assistance.

“We are very grateful for this presentation and wish to on behalf of the hospital, express our appreciation to the Black Stars,” Margaret Okai said.

This is the second donation made by the team since the start of the African Cup of Nations after a similar cash presentation of GH 2,000 to the Osu Children’s Home last week.
