Ghana’s would have to settle for a possible third-place finish at the Wafu Cup.

The local Black Stars missed the chance to play in Sunday's final after losing down 1-3 to Senegal in the semi-final clash on Friday.

Senegal jumped into the lead in the first half but Bismark Idan gave Ghana hope as he equalised just three minute after the break.

However, Ghana's hopes of meeting the hosts, Nigeria, in the final was dashed as Senegal took advantage of a depleted Black Stars side following a red card shown to Richard Annan to score two goals in extra-time of the second half.

Ghana will now Burkina Faso in the battle for third place.
