Members of Ghana’s home-based national team have left for Liberia for an international friendly in Monrovia on July, 25.

The local Black Stars made up of 18 players departed Accra Wednesday afternoon for the match which will commemorate Liberia Independence Day celebrations on July, 26.

Coach of the team, Herbert Addo says he is looking forward to watching his young squad test themselves against an unknown opposition.

"We don't know much about our opponents but it's a good opportunity for us to try out other things.

"I think it's a fine opportunity for the players, especially those selected to justify why they deserve a place in the team. But the dropped seven players will still have opportunities.

"For me, the game affords us the chance to test our team as we prepare for next year's CHAN," coach Addo said.

Ghana's team is dominated by players who secured qualification for next year’s CHAN finals.
