Sportive get real with the Gunners

Real Sportive record their first victory of the season after beating Berekum Arsenals 2-0 at the El-Wak Stadium on Saturday.

The result of the match-day-2 fixture send the Tema-based side up to the 7th position at least for now as the rest of the games are played on Sunday.

The Gunners after drawing on the opening day of the league are still searching for their first win.

Two second half goals, scored by Solomon Adjei and Hamza Abdulai secured the three points for Real Sportive.

Arsenals' second half troubles started when in the 53rd minute, Adjei opened the scoring with a beautiful curling free-kick that went past Gunners goalkeeper, Thomas Tuah Asare.

The matters got worse for the Gunners when central defender Murtalabi Mohammed was shown the red card.

In the 73rd minute, Hamza Abdulai doubled the lead for the home team by connecting Joel Adjei's cross from the right flank.

The away side were fruther reduced to nine men after captain, Frank Yeboah was sent off for picking a second yellow card, this time for dissent.
