Real Sportive have halted AshantiGold's three-game winning run with a 2-1 win over the Miners at the El-Wak Stadium on Saturday.

The defeat was the fourth picked up by the Miners, who have had a rather poor start to the season.

And just when it looked like they were finding their feet with three successive wins, the Tema-based side denied them that fine run in their match-day-9 fixture.

All three goals on the day were scored in the first period of the game with the home side, Real Sportive jumping into the lead on the 19th minute mark when Ali Lukman connected a Yunis Kamil freekick.

But the Miners drew after ten minutes through Shaibu Yakubu, who finished off from a personal effort.

Sportive, however got their noses in front again when they restored their lead this time from the boot of Hamza Abdulai.

The second half saw both sides push for a goal but played out the entire half with no goals leaving the Tema-based side to ride onto victory.
