Simon Appiah's brace gives Liberty professionals win against Great Olympics

Youngster Simon Appiah bagged a brace for Liberty Professionals on Sunday as they beat Accra Great Olympics 2-0 at the Ibrahim Sly Tetteh park ion Dansoman.

The win gives Liberty professionals their first win of the 2020/21 season.

Halfway through the first half, Abraham Wayo sent in a cross which was perfectly met by Simon Appiah to hand Liberty the lead.

Great Olympics were reduced to ten men before the break after Abbey Quaye was shown the marching orders for an offense on winger Abraham Wayo.

Liberty Professionals were given a scare few minutes into the second half after Olympics’ Mudasuri’s effort was cleared off the line by Maxwell Ansah.

The home side effected two quick changes with 20 minutes left, George Ansong coming on for Godfred Atuahene and Mubashar Issah replacing Stanley Anigyei.

The change proved vital as Liberty grabbed the second goal of the day through Simon Appiah, to net his second of the match.

Liberty endured a frenetic end to the game to grab their first win of the season with a comfortable victory at the Carl Reindorf Park.
