Semper Fi FC continued their impressive unbeaten start to the UMB Division One League campaign with a commanding 3-0 victory over newly promoted Nukunu FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex on Friday.
Abdulai Salifu opened the scoring in the 23rd minute before Emmanuel Adjei Laryea doubled the advantage seven minutes later, giving Semper Fi a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break.
The hosts maintained their dominance after the interval, with Boakye Kofi Yiadom sealing the emphatic victory with a fine finish in the 73rd minute.
The victory keeps Semper Fi FC top of Zone Three with 10 points after four matches, further underlining their strong start to the campaign.
Inter Allies hold Okwawu United in entertaining draw
Inter Allies maintained their unbeaten start to the UMB Division One League campaign after a hard-fought 1-1 draw against former Premier League side Okwawu United at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Friday.
The hosts took an early lead in the 9th minute when Daniel Alabi produced a brilliant finish. Okwawu United responded seven minutes later, with Patrick Twumasi finding the back of the net in the 16th minute to restore parity.
Both sides pushed for a winner after the break, creating several opportunities, but neither could find the decisive breakthrough. The result extends Inter Allies’ unbeaten run in Zone Three.
Agyei brace earns Hakla SC victory over Great Olympics
Hakla SC continued their impressive form in the UMB Division One League with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over former Premier League side Great Olympics at the Tuba AstroTurf on Saturday.
The defeat compounds Great Olympics’ difficult start, leaving them without a win after four matches.
After a goalless first half, Hakla SC broke the deadlock in the 49th minute when centre-forward Clement Agyei confidently converted from the penalty spot.
Great Olympics responded in the 58th minute, with Fredrick Akatuk producing a superb volley from a corner kick to level matters.
Hakla SC regained the lead just three minutes later, as Agyei stepped up once again to convert his second penalty of the afternoon in the 61st minute after a foul in the box.
His brace proved decisive and earned him the Player of the Match award. The victory moves Hakla SC to third place in Zone Three with eight points after four matches.
