The balance of power in African football is been divided along the North and West lines as the African Nations Cup reaches the semi-finals stage.

Ghana will play Nigeria in the last four after the Super Eagles booked their place in the semi-finals of the African Nations Cup.

The Black Stars reached the semis following the defeat of hosts, Angola 1-0 on Sunday but Nigeria had to scrape through after they beat Zambia 5-4 in a penalty shootout.

Both sides, who are one step closer to continental glory will renew their rivalry in an all-West African clash in Luanda on Thursday for a place in Sunday’s final.

The Black Stars beat the Super Eagles in the quarter-final stage two years ago when Ghana hosted the competition.

The last four encounter between defending champions Egypt and Algeria will also have a special flavour with the Egyptians out for revenge after the Maghreb side pipped them to a ticket to South Africa last year.
