The rise in Sellas Tetteh's stock can certainly be traced down to his days with Ghana's U-20 team, the Black Satellites.
The former Ghana coach was on Thursday named Africa Coach of the Year at the 2009 Africa Football Awards in Accra at the Glo-Caf Awards.
Now coach of Rwanda after his sterling performance with Ghana in the past year, Sellas told KickOffGhana.com it felt wonderful and amazing when his name was called out as the best coach on the continent for the year 2009.
“I was delighted. It was wonderful and amazing to be recognised after such a good year. Now I hope I can carry on and achieve even better things this year,” he said.
His honour was for masterminding Ghana's victory first at the Africa Youth Championships before taking the Black Satellites to a historic first victory at the World Youth event in Egypt last year.
