Ghana coach, Sellas Tetteh believes the Black Stars have made a good start to their campaign for places at the 2010 African Nations Cup and World Cup following a home victory over Libya.

Goals from Prince Tagoe, Junior Agogo and Laryea Kingston handed Ghana a comfortable 3-0 victory at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.

And Sellas Tetteh feels his side have prepared well ahead of their remaining Group 5 campaign, which continues in Bloemfontein this weekend against Lesotho before meetings against Gabon, both away and at home to complete the first round of qualifying matches, all in June.

"We played well and took our chances but the Libyans proved tough customers. I am satisfied with our progress. However we still have some work to do," an elated Ghana coach told www.ghanafa.org after the opening win.

Sellas Tetteh was delighted with Ghana's display, adding: “We showed our capacity and that was against a good side (Libya). I always had belief in the team.

“I have been talking about a super takeoff. And this (performance) is what I meant by that. We got three goals and that makes it a good start as we zoom into the next game.

“We would have to move on from here and try to correct some mistakes. But that was a great performance. Our passing was good and we created chances too.”

Up next for Ghana is an away game to Lesotho in Bloemfontein on Sunday and the Black Stars coach is hoping for a repeat of such a performance.

“We would go into the game very confident after winning our first game. The approach would be to play for a win.”
