Mezack Afriyie scored a dramatic injury-time winner for Berekum Chelsea in their 2-1 win over Asante Kotoko on matchday-30 of the Ghana Premier League on Saturday.

The forward, who was lurking at the far post, latched on with a header five minutes into injury-time and send the home fans agog.

Striker Steven Desse Mukwala put Asante Kotoko in front after just 15 minutes  before Stephen Amankona pulled parity through the spot kick in the 41st minute - making him the leading top scorer in the league with 13 goals.

Mezack Afriyie stole the show with an injury-time winner to ensure Berekum Chelsea returned to winning ways in a remarkable style.

It's  a massive relief for coach Samuel Boadu after his side lost 3-0 at home to Hearts of Oak at the Golden City park in their last encounter.

Berekum Chelsea have now jumped to fourth on the league table with 44 points while Kotoko lie 11th with 40 points.

Elsewhere, Great Olympics are in deep trouble after their 2-1 defeat at Legon Cities on Saturday left them just above the relegation zone.

Youngster Mohammed Alidu opened the scoring for Legon Cities as early as 6th minute before Albert Amoah pulled parity for the visitors on the stroke of the first half.

Kwabena Boateng scored what proved to be the match-winner in the 7rd minute to separate the two sides at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.

Cities have now jumped to 9th on the table with 41 points while Great Olympics lie 15th on 33 points.
