Relegation fight heats up as Accra Lions win, Hakla draw, Golden Warriors hit five in Zone Three

Accra Lions mounted a spirited comeback to secure a crucial 2-1 victory over Na God FC in a tense relegation battle at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday. Na God FC took the lead in the 26th minute through Kwesi Ankumah, but Accra Lions responded six minutes later when Emmanuel Oduro produced a superb equaliser. Richard Agyen then netted the winner five minutes later to seal a vital three points for the hosts. The victory lifts Accra Lions to 11th place in Zone Three with 36 points, just two points above the relegation zone. Na God FC, meanwhile, remain stuck in the drop zone after the defeat.

Elsewhere, Hakla SC continued their fight for survival after holding FC Nania to a goalless draw in another tense relegation clash at the Legon Nania Park on Saturday. Both sides created several chances but failed to find the breakthrough. Hakla SC now sit 10th with 36 points after 29 matches, only two points clear of the relegation zone with one game remaining in the 2025/26 Access Bank Division One League season.

Golden Warriors delivered a stunning performance, thrashing already relegated Great Ambition 5-0 at the Kukurantumi Ohene Park on Saturday. Jesse Arthur Bediako opened the scoring inside two minutes before doubling his tally in the 16th minute to hand Golden Warriors a comfortable halftime lead. After the break, Benjamin Addo added a third in the 71st minute before Abdul Basit Issah made it four eight minutes later. Benjamin Addo then completed his brace three minutes later to cap off a memorable victory. Despite extending their unbeaten run to seven league matches (W3, D4), Golden Warriors remain in the relegation zone with 33 points, two points away from safety.
