Bashir Hayford feels that the last-gasp goal conceded at the Gyamfi Park to New Edubiase on Saturday undid a great team performance from his Medeama side.

A late strike by Bernard Ofori earned the home side a crucial 1-0 win as Medeama fell to their seventh loss this season and they are now of three sides [Bechem Utd - 7 and Wassaman - 9] to have lost the most games.

The Medeama coach who fielded a team missing seven regulars due to disciplinary sanctions, believes his side deserved something from the game.

"We did what we could do in the circumstances we were faced with," Hayford said after the game.

"We were coming up into the game and wanted to finish well when we conceded that late goal."

"But I am satisfied with my boys. They played well throughout the game, showed good determination and proved that we can count on them."

According to Hayford, he had to take a firm stance on team discipline as he excluded his regular starters who returned late from the festive break.

Captain Louis Agyemang, goalkeeper Mozart Adjetey, Atia Sumaila, Francis Coffie, Augustine Sefa, Nana Yaw Afriyie and Sampson Cudjoe all missed the game. The seven players would meet the team's management this week.

"They overstayed and arrived on January 3 instead of 28th and the game was scheduled for the January 7."

"How can they play," he quipped.

"The disciplinary action is fair and we would move on."
