Ghana’s friendly against South Africa on Wednesday could provide a glimpse into the future for Milovan Rajevac as he aims at the qualifying for the 2012 African Nations Cup.

With the African qualifiers set to begin next month for Ghana, Rajevac is keen to check up on some emerging talents available as he builds on the Black Stars' World Cup performance.

Though today's game against the Bafana Bafana at the Soccer City Stadium might only pass as a friendly, the Black Stars coach plans to gauge his team's level after an exceptional performance at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

“We want to build on our World Cup performances and the match against Bafana will give us a good indication of where we stand at the moment.

“We will be involved in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers soon, so it is important that we get our combinations right against South Africa,” said Rajevac.

And for the Serbian coach, the game against the Bafana Bafana would present the Black Stars with the opposition needed to access his team.

“The players showed what they were capable of during the World Cup and it is important that we keep on improving.

“Bafana were also impressive during the World Cup and we will have to be at our best if we are to beat them,” added Rajevac.

Despite missing some key personnel, Rajevac has a strong 17-man squad which includes two debutants Cofie Bekoe and Bright Addae as a host of players who missed the World Cup have a chance to impress.

Rather he says it's Ghana's last preparatory game before the Nations Cup qualifier against Swaziland in September.

“This is our last match before we start our Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Swaziland next month, so it was important for us to bring our best available team,” said Rajevac.
