Players would be jostling for places in Ghana’s final team for the weekend’s CHAN qualifier against Nigeria.

Milovan Rajevac would today resume preparations with his local Black Stars side in Accra after breaking up camp to allow players play in the opening day of the premier league.

From an initial 30-member squad called into camp last week, the Serbian coach has pruned his team to 25 with a further reduction by close of midweek.

Ekow Benson and Latif Salifu, who scored on the opening day of the premiership for Liberty Professionals would move on to join the national Under-20 side, the Black Satellites for an impending tournament.

Ghana is pursuing a place at the first African Nations Championship. The Black Stars come up against Nigeria in the last qualifying match to reach the finals of the Championship.

The local Black Stars would play against Nigeria on November 30 over a two-leg fixture with the winner going through to the finals of the maiden tournament organised by the Confederation of African Football.

Ghana reached the final round stage after completing the double over Niger in April.

Ivory Coast will host the maiden competition from the 22nd February-8th March 2009.

The Africa Nations Championships is a new tournament designed by Caf for only home-based players of its member countries would host the first leg.
