Quincy Owusu-Abeyie scored for Malaga in the fifth round tie of the Copa del Rey but saw his side lose 5-3 at Sevilla.

Alejandro Alfaro opened the scoring for Sevilla after 11 minutes, but a double from Jose Salomon Rondon turned things in Malaga’s favour before Alvaro Negredo levelled.

The Ghana international gave Malaga the advantage going into the break, but Ndri Romaric scored twice after the restart and Diego Capel rounded off the scoring eight minutes from time.

Quincy who has struggled for game time since Manuel Pelligrini arrived at the club is playing his first season for Malaga.

Malaga would be hoping to turn the result in the second leg which will be played on January 4 or 5.
