Quincy Owusu-Abeyie gets an opportunity to stay in England as Premiership side, Tottenham Hotspur hands the Ghana forward a trial.

The Spartak Moscow player had been on loan with Birmingham but the Championship side did not sign him permanently but rather released him after the six month period.

Owusu-Abeyie was involved in a friendly game for Tottenham on Wednesday night as he attempts to convince Harry Redknapp.

He played alongside fellow trialist and Ghana captain Stephen Appiah as Spurs beat Hayes 2-0 in the game played behind closed doors.

The former Arsenal is reluctant to return to his Russian club since joining the Moscow side from Arsenal.
