The women's Olympic team, the Black Queens have secured a place in the last four of the African Qualifying campaign after beating DR Congo 4-1 on aggregate over two legs.

Ghana accounted for the Female Simbas 1-0 in Kinshasa on Sunday after Black Queens forward, Anita Amankwah scored the match winner in the second half.

The Black Queens won the first leg 3-1 at home a fortnight ago.

By this win, Ghana joins three other winners who progress to the next stage, where all four teams will play each other on a round-robin basis.

The top placed team automatically qualifies for the Beijing Games with the second placed team, playing Brazil, runners up from the CONMEBOL in the play off.

We at Ghanafa.org hereby express our gratitude to GHANBATT 9, the Ghanaian troops serving on a on peace mission in DR Congo for providing the Black Queens delegation with security during their stay for the game against the Female Simbas.
