The Coronation park in Sunyani would get busy this weekend as Ghana host Angola in the return leg of Africa’s first round qualifiers for the 2008 Olympic Games women’s football competition.

Second leg ties for the women’s Olympic qualifying series continues this weekend for Africa’s sixteen nations vying for the single slot to the 2008 Beijing Games.

Ghana posted a 2-1 win over the Angolans in the first tie in Luanda and would be seeking to complete the job with a home win.

Victory for the senior women’s team, the Black Queens over the two-leg tie would see Ghana in the last eight of the qualifying series.

Ghana’s team preparations at the national camp in Prampram has been on the quiet though a 4-0 thrashing of the Greater Accra Regional team last Friday has sounded the team’s readiness for qualification..

The Black Queens team have been steadily preparing in Sunyani since Sunday after that test game.

Ghana would be seeking to make her debut in the women’s competition at the Olympic Games after narrowly missing out for the 2004 Athens Games.

Africa has a single slot for the Olympic Games and the 16 nations competing in the qualifiers this weekend are seeking to pick the sole ticket.

Aside the single slot for Africa, the runners-up from the CONCACAF and CAF qualifiers would be compete in a one-off decider for a place in the Olympic competition.

The other fixtures for the qualifying rounds are Liberia-Ethiopia, Guinea-Zimbabwe, Eritrea-Morocco, Equatorial Guinea-South Africa, Namibia-DR Congo and Mozambique-Algeria.

Nigeria have secured qualification to the next round after their opponents, Senegal pulled out of the return leg.
