Quartey makes it into squad

Milovan Rajevac would have more options in defence as Jonathan Quartey recovers from an ankle sprain to make the Ghana team for the World Cup qualifier with Lesotho.

The Kaizer Chiefs defender has now been included and would stay in contention for a place in central defence for Ghana when the Black Star play their opponents on Saturday at the Sekondi Sports Stadium.

Quartey’s recovery was been monitored as Milovan Rajevac announced his provisional squad of 22 last week for the final 2010 World Cup qualifying match in Group 5.

The central defender who has played in two successive games for Ghana sprained his ankle whiles playing for club side, Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa.

Ghana plays Lesotho on October 11 at the Sekondi Sports Stadium in the final game of the joint 2010 World Cup and African Nations qualifying campaign.
